It seems that the term, which is nowadays in most use, in the literary world, is Knowledge Management. No domain has remained untouched by this new revolution. All business firms, companies, non-profit organizations, profit-making organizations, governmental institutions, academic organizations, research institutes, corporate, etc. want to manage their organizational knowledge to survive in today’s market. Organizational knowledge not only includes the information and knowledge generated in the mean time by the organization, but also the human resource, which has generated this knowledge. The main problem most of the organizations face today is the fact that expertise keep changing their organizations and thus organizations are not sure up-to what time the expert will work with them. Knowledge Management came up with a solution for this problem that, along with capturing knowledge/information that is generated, we should also think of capturing information about the expertise so that in the time of need, organization should be in the position to approach the particular person (expert). Theoretically this appears a very simple task but practically it is a very complex procedure, which consists of several complicated sub-tasks. This project will reflect light on various pragmatic approaches to knowledge management while in parallel we will look at the example of Knowledge Management System at Indian School of Business.
