A low-power second-order sampling receiver for Bluetooth

The main goal of this thesis is to investigate the feasibility of a quadrature radio frequency receiver front-end using a second-order sampling topology in CMOS. Second-order sampling combines subsampling with a non-uniform sampling scheme. This non-uniform sampling scheme comprises of two uniform sampling streams with a small time delay between both streams, which allows the generation of an I and Q channel.

Study of a Torque Limiter

This thesis is completed on request from Saab Avitronics. Saab Avitronics produces and creates electric actuators that are employed to handle the wing flaps on flying vessels, both for the civil- and military market. This specific project seeks to review a brand new kind of torque limiter which will be an integral part of an actuator. The primary task of the torque limiter is to detach the driving torque if the system goes to an undesirable stop.

Environmental Applications of Aquatic Remote Sensing

A lot of lakes, coastal zones and oceans are directly or indirectly influenced by human activities. Through the outlet of a large amount of materials in the air and water, we’re changing the natural conditions on local and international levels. Remote sensing sensors, on satellites or planes, can easily acquire image data, offering the user with details about the indicated region, object or phenomenon. Three unique programs are outlined within this dissertation.

Computational Musculoskeletal Biomechanics in Cross Country Skiing

The goal of this project is to explore the possibilities for computational musculoskeletal biomechanics in cross-country skiing. Typically, research on cross-country skiing biomechanics relies largely on experimental testing alone. Trying an alternative strategy, this thesis looks at the options of using computational musculoskeletal biomechanics for cross-country skiing. So far as the writer understands, this has not been done before.Cross-country skiing is both quick and effective, and the whole body is employed to build movement.

New Methodology for Optical Sensing and Analysis

This project explains the investigation I’ve accomplished, and partially will do, during my time as a PhD learner in the laboratory of Applied Optics. Caused by circumstances beyond the range of this book, this includes three quite diverse projects. The first 2, including gas sensing and measuring on paper with ellipsometry, have been discontinued, while the third one, measuring fluorescence with a computer screen and web camera, is in full progress and will be until I complete my studies.

Reduction of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits

In several consumer items, e.g., mobile phones and handheld computers, both digital and analog circuits are needed. Currently, it is easy to implement a big subsystem or even a complete system, that earlier demanded many chips, on a single chip. A system on chip (SoC) has usually the features of lower power usage and a little fabrication expense in contrast to multi-chip solutions.

Contractors Choice of Material for Sewer

This report is conducted together with NCC Construction Sverige AB and treats sewers from the contractors’ viewpoint. The report investigates in an overall way how the work with sewers operates in a contract company and which aspects that speak for the different pipe materials, plastics and concrete from an overall economic perspective. Presently both tubes and wells created from plastic as well as concrete are utilized and promoted. The document represents which aspects that affect the option of pipe system, plastics or concrete.
