Design of path searcher for WCDMA receiver and implementation in DSP

Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is a commonly implemented wireless access technology which involves performing huge correlations in real-time, notably at the receiver. Most baseband receivers are thus integrated in hardware to match this prerequisite. At the same time, the wireless technologies develop so speedily that implementation should be customized to add new advancement. Many of these modifications are specifically expensive in hardware design. The main objective of this report is to utilize Digital Signal Processors (DSP) as well as develop a software solution of Path search in Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) receivers. Overall, the DSP still is unable to attain the same robust computation capability as hardware solutions and we’ll make an effort to customize the inherent algorithms as appropriate. The goal is to create the algorithm and put into action a path searcher adopting the WCDMA standard. Path searcher is probably the key element in WCDMA receiver. It could be used to detect many signals in WCDMA channel.
